Maddy Bjorklund, MHA
Founder, Advance Healthcare
Maddy Bjorklund is an executive level healthcare leader and a champion for developing strong, smart strategies, operationalizing plans, and making critical transformations that improve the way care is accessed, delivered, experienced, valued, and paid for. With over 25 years of experience across payer, provider and start up environments, she has a deep interest in shepherding opportunities that advance the state of the healthcare industry.
Prior to establishing Advance Healthcare, Maddy served as chief of staff to the Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota (BCBSMN) CEO, coordinating strategic initiatives, overseeing cross-functional activities, and serving as plan liaison to the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association. She also led multiple teams in BCBSMN’s Health Services division, managed primary care and specialty care practices, and spearheaded quality improvement at Park Nicollet Health Services (MN). Her career began as a licensed social worker in the ER and as a hospital float pool health unit coordinator.
Maddy is seasoned in strategic planning, execution, performance excellence, process improvement, change management, communications, governance, and measurement. She also holds deep experience in Medicare, Medicaid, population health, value-based care arrangements, payer-provider partnerships, innovative ventures, and establishing new capabilities, products or programs.
Maddy holds a Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration from the University of Minnesota’s Carlson School of Business and a bachelor’s degree in social work from St. Cloud State University. She is certified in Lean, Six Sigma and Prosci Change Management methodologies.
She, her husband, her two daughters, and their English Springer, Josie, enjoy river life in the St. Croix River valley near Hudson, Wisconsin.
